Godly Play – ages 3 – 5th grade

Godly Play teaches children the art of using Christian language – parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action – helping them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.  It is structured and each class follows a pattern: welcome, story time, “I wonder” questions and free reflection time. Every Sunday the kids hear a Bible story that is illustrated with wooden miniatures. After the story the kids are free to “wonder,” one of the most unique aspects of Godly Play is that we do not give the kids the answers, but the freedom to discover.

Youth Group – Journey to Adulthood

The Journey to Adulthood program structures the Sunday morning programs for youth ages 11 – 17 and is divided into 3 group; Rite 13, J2A and YAC.  In Rite-13, young people work on forming a Christian community of their peers that is supported by adults other than their parents. They learn about and recognize their individual, unique gifts.

This group’s focus is to build on the community they created in Rite-13, while learning and practicing skills for being successful and caring adults in the church and in the world. The culmination of learning and practicing all these skills is a spiritual pilgrimage that they plan, fundraise, and prepare to take at the end of the second year of the program.

Young Adults in Church (YAC) group is the oldest group. The group focuses on helping young adults further identify their gifts and passions, and where they can engage in ministries through the church.

 Adult Formation

Adults 1

On Sundays at 10:15 AM, adults gather in the Parish Hall.  While the children and youth and learning, the adults of the parish engage in dynamic conversation around current events, different forms of bible study, or with an outside speaker.  For the full list of forum topic for 2017-2018, please click here.

We also offer 2 classes of EFM (Education for Ministry).  EfM is a 9 month curriculum for adults who want to learn about the Bible, Church History, and Theology. It is college level reading and discussion, and practical skill building around Christian identity and spiritual growth, while reflecting on the ways God is at work in the world around us.

We currently have two EfM groups going: Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 pm, and Thursday mornings from 9-noon.

On the first Monday of each month, we will explore spiritual matters and our role in community.  There is different content offered each month.  First Mondays @ the Chapel is designed to delve more deeply into faith development than a Sunday Adult Forum will allow, without the year-long commitment of a weekly group like Education for Ministry (EfM).  First Mondays @ the Chapel are open to all. Invite friends and neighbors to come.  For the full list of topics and descriptions, please click here.
