St Andrews works to be God’s hands in the world. Not only in our community in Howard County but beyond ourselves to different regions and countries.
Guardian Angel Thanksgiving – Every year, turkeys and all the fixings are collected and taken to Church of the Guardian Angels in Remington in Baltimore. There all of the food is made and served by our families.
Super Bowl Party – The Saturday before the Super Bowl the youth throw a Super Bowl party for the members of Church of the Guardian Angels in Remington in Baltimore. They prepare all of the soup and make tons of sandwiches. There is a raffle and lots of fun to be had.
Reading Camp – 2014 marks the first year in participating in Reading Camp. This is a camp set up for elementary age students who are below grade level reading and at risk. The youth volunteer a week in the summer to spend at Guardian Angel modeling the wonderful world of reading.
Chili Cook Off – In March, 15 congregations come together for a chili cook off to benefit Bridges to Housing Stability St Andrews’ has yet to bring home the “Golden Ladle”. But next year may be our year!!
Guardian Angel Food Pantry – There is an ongoing collection for gently used or new items for the Food Pantry at Church of the Guardian Angel in Baltimore. Drop off is in the front lobby of the Parish House. Here is a list of most needed items. For a list of items needed please click here.
Honduras – This year 15 youth and adults headed down to Honduras to work with El Hogar School. This ongoing ministry is not only supported by our trips but by essential supplies that are purchased throughout the year. We are also in ministry with the farm that supports the school. This year we are tearing out old kitchen equipment from a local McDonald’s to send down.
Heifer Project – For their stewardship project, the Sunday School classes collected change for the Heifer Project. After 5 months, they were able to collect almost $700! They purchased many animals for families in developing nations.
Kobagho, our Sponsor Child in Uganda – Kabugho is a 10 year old student at the Bishop Masereka Christian Foundation school in Uganda that St. Andrew’s is sponsoring.
