Emergency Winter Warm-Up Kits

“I was naked and you gave me clothing…” Matthew 25:36

Sometimes, a family or individual cannot get a space in a shelter and must spend the night outside. This year, our families at St. Andrew’s will be donating 30 kits to help keep families or individuals warmer when this happens.

What on this list can you provide?

For 40 kits, we need:

80 pairs of tube socks

40 small chocolate bars

30 packets of hand warmers (ex: camping toasty toes)

3 boxes of gallon Ziploc baggies

Bring your donation to St. Andrew’s this Sunday (January 10) and next Sunday (January 17). On January 17 at 10:15 AM, we will pack all of the kits at an Intergenerational Formation Hour. Some kits and all donations will be given to a shelter in the Baltimore area. Kits will also be available for parishioners to take and keep in their car to give out. If you would rather give money to offset shelter expenses, please write “winter shelter” in the memo line. (It costs approx. $30 per person per night to operate a shelter.)
